Our wine list is comprised of over 400 selections from renowned as well as boutique wineries from around the world. We received Wine Spectator magazine’s prestigious “Award of Excellence” for the first time in 2006, 2007 and again in 2008. It is proudly displayed on the first page of this wine list. The magazine recognized the variety of choice and pricing of our wines. Cap’s was listed as inexpensive; meaning our mark up is well below the industry average. Drinking an “expensive” wine at Cap’s will not break your bank.
Our wine list is presented by grape variety from light to heavy bodied. Most categories feature a “Best Value” selection, pointing out an exceptional pairing of price and quality. Due to our high sales volume, we sometimes run out of certain vintages or selections. Please check the label on the bottle upon presentation.
Most varietals have a “reserve” section, which showcases the renowned, rare and other wines of exceptional quality. Tim and I pride our selves in finding these rare gems for you. Please understand that availability of these wines is limited. We are proud to offer some of the hard-to-find American wines, like the fabulous wines made by Du Mol, as well as the great Australians Shiraz, big French Bordeaux and, another favorite, big Italian Reds.
Most items on the reserve list show a rating by either the Wine Spectator Magazine (WS), Robert Parker (RP) or both. Although the rating system is no guarantee for good taste, it is best used as a guideline for quality. Remember, the only thing that matters is your taste.
All our reserve wines are kept at a constant temperature of 59 degrees. Note that none of the reserve wines may be returned, unless corked.
Enjoy your wine experience at Cap’s and because of our pricing, we encourage you to be daring and try something new!
