Catering
Thank you for your interest in Cap’s on the Water. The restaurant is located on the Intra Coastal Waterway, between Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine. Our setting is best described as “Old Florida”, with majestic live oak trees surrounding the deck and providing a natural canopy. Cap’s provides a wonderful backdrop for photographs, due to our water view and spectacular sunsets.

Cap’s on the Water is a restaurant with an indoor bar and separate dining room sandwiched between two great outdoor areas: the Front Garden Bar and the Oyster Bar. All areas are available for private parties. Unless you rent the entire restaurant, Cap’s remains open to the public for business.

Our catering manager, Ms. Carrie La Fontaine, has years of experience as an event coordinator and will provide you with the kind of personal service needed to insure your event is a success.

Our waterfront location makes it possible to arrive by boat. We can arrange for a charter boat (up to 70 people) for a fun ending to your event. For weddings Cap’s has on-site ceremony locations. We have established contacts with photographers, florists and rental agencies.

As Cap’s is an outdoor location, we must make provisions for inclement weather. Tent rentals are available in advance and once confirmed are non- refundable. Cap’s on the Water will make the final decision whether a tent is needed or if the event is held as scheduled in the intended location.

Unfortunately, St. Johns County does not allow us to have live music outside, unless the entire restaurant is rented for a private party. The following pages will provide you with detailed information regarding rental fees, food and beverage menu, as well as pricing and other related fees.

Front Garden
The front garden is on the waterfront and enjoys natural shade from the live oak canopy. The garden has a full bar with seating. The area provides dinner seating for 80 and 100 people for a cocktail style event.

Oyster Bar Deck
The oyster bar deck is on the waterfront and has round mosaic tables. However, we can make any table arrangement to accommodate your party. The deck provides seating capacity for 50 people. The oyster bar itelf remains open to the public, when renting the deck.

Oyster Bar
The oyster bar is on the waterfront and includes the deck described above.
It offers a full bar with 24 seats in a sandy area and includes the waterfront deck, mentioned above. Seating capacity is 80 – 100 people.

Dining Room
Our dining room offers a view of the waterway and is decorated in warm yellow tones. It has 15 tables offering seating for 50 to 60 people.

Availability
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate all requests for weddings, parties and events. As a general rule, our restaurant is open to the public and limited availability for private functions from March through October, during major holiday periods and National holidays.

Pricing
Prices are subject to 6% sales tax and a 20% service charge. Because market pricing for fresh ingredients can fluctuate, we reserve the right to adjust pricing up to 31 days before an event. Cap’s on the Water will guarantee prices 30 days prior to your event.

Payment Information
The signed contract and a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 (or the amount of the food bill) are required to validate your contract and secure the date of your event. Payments can be made with a valid credit card or cash.

Cancellation
If you must cancel for any reason the following cancellation penalty will apply:

Rental Rates
These rates include all set up and cleaning fees. These fees are not subject to sales tax.
Fees do not include rental fees for tents or linens. Our business is seasonal and we offer
a 25% discount in the period from November 1 to February 28.

Additional Services
We are happy to assist with referrals of services and locations such as notary public, wedding cakes, boat charters, florists, discounted guest rooms at area hotels, photographers, rental services, dj’s, musicians, limos and any other wishes you desire.

Food and Beverage
All parties over 25 guests must be catered buffet style. Pricing is based on a buffet style event. All food and beverage will be provided by Cap’s on the Water. No food or beverage may be brought into the restaurant. We are happy to provide children’s, vegetarian and specialty menus. We do not charge cake cutting fees.

Open BarsOpen Bars are available on a per person basis by the hour. Your guests enjoy unlimited mixed drink cocktails, wines, domestic and imported beers, sodas, juices and bottled waters.

Call liquors and house wines $20 pp first hour, $18 each additional hour
Premium liquors and wines by the glass $25 pp first hour, $ 22 each additional hour
Beers, house wines and sodas $16 per person per hour
Non Alcoholic (Under 21) $4 per person per hour

Our event designer can assist with personalizing your selections. We have an extensive wine list and are proud recipients of Wine Spectator’s “Award of Excellence”.

Hosted Bars
Hosted Bars are available on a per drink basis. Your guest enjoy unlimited mixed drink cocktail, wines, beers, soda, juices and bottled waters. The host pays at the end of the evening only for actual drinks ordered. The hosted bar prices are:

Specific liquor brands and wine vintages are subject to change. All guests under 30 must bring and present upon request a valid photo ID. We reserve the right to request ID from any guest.

All beverages are subject to 20% gratuity and 6% sales tax.
